the best way to make money is of course selling prisoners and loot from battle so you will obviously still be doing a lot of that, but the combat system is significantly improved in Bannerlord. Sieges are WAY more fun. Towns are huge and have interesting characters. Overall the game is a significant improvement over Warband.
Repeat all this to level up and you can craft two handed swords (I found them to have the biggest value) worth of ~28k each. Make 20 of em and you have half a million. Fast and easy money without killing anybody. If you want to maximize the sell value of your smithed weapons, multiply the speed * damage.
Caravans have been way way better than some forum people chime in about. They have been decent for multiple patches. the Current Main patch, and Beta patch.. caravans are still decent income.. and Now die far far less. (though not so little that there is NO risk)
Building new territories up is a great way to make money, assuming you can keep them loyal. In fact, town and castle Loyalty in Mount and Blade Bannerlord is one of the most important elements in the management part of the game. That process takes a lot of time. Earning money will be very important as well. It's a very fast way to make a quick 2000. I haven't learned much about tribute from being a vassal, it's my first time being one in bannerlord since yesterday. I'm hoping the higher I rise, the more I can pull in. In the end, it costs money to make money.
Constant war makes my charm , influence and denars skyrocket. 1 party of 100-150 can net you 10k 20k denars + ransom and storing the nobles into your friendly settlement boost charm and influence. Once im running 200 party with mostly cav. I got like 150k denars in 30minutes. Autoresolving ofc. 2ndRateTeammate.
